Freepoint Commodities LLC is a de novo physical commodities merchant trading company that will initially focus on energy and power trading. With headquarters in Greenwich, Connecticut, the company will conduct wholesale trading and marketing of physical commodities, functioning as an intermediary between suppliers and end users of commodities. Freepoint was founded in March 2011 by Trident V in partnership with management. Freepoint is led by David Messer, Frank Gallipoli and Rob Feilbogen, who collectively led Sempra Energy Trading Corporation and its successor company from 1998 until 2009.
