DR. PAMELA HYMEL NAMED MEDICAL OFFICER FOR SEDGWICK CMS

Memphis, Tenn., August 2, 2004 - Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. (Sedgwick CMS) announces the appointment of Pamela A. Hymel, M.D. as senior vice president and corporate medical director of the North American claims and productivity management solutions provider. Dr. Hymel is now the Company’s principal expert medical resource in all matters including managed care, case management, utilization review and return-to-work services for workers’ compensation, occupational disability and integrated disability management programs; and employee health programs including healthcare and wellness plans and employee assistance programs.

Dr. Hymel comes to Sedgwick CMS after 16 years with Hughes Electronics, where she was vice president of human resources for medical services, benefits and HR systems. At Hughes Electronics she developed programs in occupational health and wellness that the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) recognized with its Corporate Health Achievement Award. Dr. Hymel is board certified in both internal medicine and occupational medicine. She holds a master’s degree in public health, is a fellow and former board member of the ACOEM, and has chaired the Western Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association. She has published extensively on topics of occupational health and wellness.
